PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW!
PRAISE HIM ALL CREATURES HERE BELOW!
PRAISE HIM ABOVE ALL YE HEAVENLY HOSTS!
PRAISE FATHER, SON, AND HOLY GHOST!
AMEN!

I always want to sing that song when my heart is bursting with praise! And dear friend, Jewels, my heart is bursting with praise. THANK YOU for allowing me to share my heart the other day. THANK YOU caring enough to share some of your struggles, and how you rested in the arms of our Father through it all. You are mature in Christ, a prayer I have for myself.

Ephesians 4:13-14 - Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect (mature) man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro....." Your words remind me that the marking of a mature woman is not one who is tossed to and fro when the tough stuff comes. That is where I've been.

Thank you too for the practical ways to just take the next step - the soup, the laundry, the cuddles, the walks, the songs.....

And with that, I must go finish making our dinner so that we may sit out in this most enjoyable fall evening...together....as a family.

Much love in Christ,

Jen

What an absolutely beautiful post. I think you should write a book. I would buy it...and I would buy many copies...for me..my sister, my mother, my mother in law, my best friend and my sister in laws!!!
Your son's beard cracks me up...my husband has a goatee very similar..and I can't stand when he lets it get bushy like that (which he is doing now) but he just loves it...hehe...he likes to play with it. He will just sit in the evenings and stroke his beard :o) Maybe it is a comfort thing for him. When I was small...I used to curl my curls in my hair around my finger constantly...maybe it's the same idea for him...all about comfort? LOL..i don't know.

And yes...sophia DOES look like a flying squirrel...hehe! I love her skirt and top though! I have a love for sweet country chickens and her outfit is perfect!!! :)

I loved all your loving words and truth you speak about our loving God! :) I am so thankful he has led me to your blog. I LOVE seeing a new post here! I even come back and reread them sometimes when time allows!

Thank you for the walk...it was lovely! I hope you are having a truly joyful week!

Love in Him,
Katy :)

Hi JAR just dropped in quickly to show Kate your lovely pictures. I'll be back to read through properly later.

Alyssa

Once again...thank you so much for the encouragement. I've been actually using parts of your posts as part of my daily time with the Lord. Thank you so much.

Dear Jewels

I like your "legal advice" :) and I will take it to heart.

I love Amy Carmichael's writing as well - it's so rich.

"Take the next step" I think I remember Elizabeth Eliot or maybe it was Edith Shaeffer giving that same advice. I've followed it in many distressing times - and it helps.

Thank you for the lovely walk. But . . . I'm wondering just exactly what is "Kombucha" ?? :)

Many blessings to you and your sweet family.

Chas

Thank you so much for your tenderness and love, Jewels. You are such an inspiration.
Love,
Chas

Thank you so much - your post was just what I needed to be reminded of.
The music really adds a special devotional feeling.
Many thanks.

I really enjoyed that walk but I'm not so sure about the washing up because now I have to go do my own as well.

Very wise advice Jewels and a the idea of giving yourself permission not to worry, to trust to a higher power has over the years truly been so freeing for me especially as I have watched my own mother live a life of unnecessary worry and angst and miss out on so much joy.

Oh and I agree Sophia does look like a flying squirrel, has she got her grown up front teeth now. Doesn't it change the look of their faces when that happens, suddenly they are in a different stage of childhood.

Elizabeth

WOW...just learned that yo are on blog again...THANKS for sharing...I look forward to whatever you post. You have such a lovely family and my what a gorgeous place to live...would love to be able to live in such a spot!!

Hi there. I'm not sure how I stumbled upon your site, but I feel like I have found a treasure! I live a totally different life...I'm a tattoo artist, a single mom, and a city dweller, but your kindness and breathtaking pictures give me a break from my hectic existence. They give me comfort. Thank-you so much for creating these lovely pages.

I am getting married next year, and plan to do so at my aunt's pennsylvania farm. I was wondering how YOU throw a wedding...I'm looking for a "Jewel Flavor" on a extremely minimal budget.

Love and light!

Dear Jewels,
Thanks for the lovely walk down the road.

Thank you for your wise words and the way you live out motherhood. Not perfectly - but trustingly that our kind heavenly Father, knows and cares.

Raquel

Jewels: Thanks so much for that lovely walk! I feel such a kinship with you and your family! I agree with handing things over to the Lord and letting him take care of them - sometimes I see myself stuffing all my messy troubles in a big box, tying it with string and then handing it to my heavenly Father - and telling him "Here, these are yours now, I don't want them back, I know that you will take care of them". There is indeed peace in acceptance - whether that acceptance be of wealth or of poverty! I do enjoy your posts so much - I always save your blog until last to read - kind of a blog dessert, that way I can feast on it all day! Much love, Raquel XO

Jewels,

I followed your link about your C-section to a posting from 2/07. There is artwork of a mohter wiht an infant. I tried to find out what paining this is, but to no avail. Do you have any idea? I am so interested b/c I have an almost carbon copy on my wall. It is much smaller and done in pencil/ink. I bought it off ebay and all that was said is that is was found in an old barn in Virginia.

Thank you for sharing your gift of writing that Jesus has given you. Thank you for leading us to love as He would.

Bless you,
Ashley

Do you think my guys would miss me if I just came out and lived with you all? :)

Thanks for the lovely walk! Think we burned a few calories?

Hi Jewels,
I found your blog through Seaside Enchantment and I can't get enough! Your words are truly inspirational and that was one of the loveliest walks I've ever been on. Thanks for sharing your beautiful life!

Sommer

What a lovely stroll we had Jewels:-) Strangely, I don't feel out of breath!

What beautiful country you live in. What a treasure!

Thanks for sharing with us:-)

Lots of love,

Thank you so much Jewels-reminding us that it is too easy sometimes to worry and fret and, yet, when we raise our voice in prayer the worry and fret slowly leaves us and is replaced with a calm peace sent by our Lord as He holds us in His hands and protects us with His Perfect Love.

Oh how I needed to hear this. I am a worrier. My daughter just moved to New Orleans the week before hurricane Gustav. I have almost made myself sick over concern for her safety both from the storms, the move and the safety of living in New Orleans.
I am trying so hard to have more faith in the Lord to take care of her. I know he will but it is still hard for me to let it all go. Thanks for this post.

That was a lovely stroll, and a beautiful day for it too.
About the kombucha. I have tried and failed in making it. I used a bottle of the GS brand but it did not make a SCOBY, although it 'brewed' for one month.
I will appreciate any information you could share.
^__^

Moey

Thank you! It was lovely to take a walk somewhere, where there aren't trees fallen and electric wires down, and everything in a hectic mess! I hope that wherever you are, you weren't harrassed by Ike. I'm so glad you are back :-)

Liz

This was such an achingly beautiful post...I too will miss and long for the days of shoes on the wrong feet. I have been caught up in the feeling of not being able to do it all...thank you for setting my priorities straight...God first, my family second. After that, what really matters? Your neck of the woods is beautiful...something I really long for in the future. Thank you...I am a new reader, but I look forward to your every post.
God bless you and yours.
Liz

Kristi

I cannot tell you how much I needed your wise words this evening. Your precious writing has spoken into my heart like nothing else does. Thank you. Thank you. Can you be my mom? (only half joking)

And what a glorious place of earth you live on. Wow.

Quinne

Hi Jewels :) I enjoyed walking with you for a little while here - what a lovely post. Blessings, Q
